The use of electronic health records require that technicians be familiar and proficient with special computer software, maintaining health record security and the ability to analyze this electronic data to improve the healthcare information process and service. Medical records professionals and health information technicians responsibility and work scope vary depending on the size of the facility where they work and the patients who get treated. Health Information Technicians can often specialize in many different aspects of health information and services.
