RN Jobs - Nursing Job - Registered Nurse
Nurses who take RN jobs, regardless of specialty or medical setting, treat healthcare patients, educate all patients, families and the general public about countless medical conditions and treatments as well as provide expert advice and emotional support. RN jobs require nurses to record patients medical histories, symptoms, reactions, administer diagnostic tests, analyze the results, operate medical equipment, administer prescribed treatment and medications, and help with the patient follow-up and rehabilitation. Most RNs work hard to promote good general health by educating the people on warning signs and symptoms of diseases that can often time be avoided with early detection and or healthy lifestyle choices. An RN might also create and operate general health screenings or immunization drives and clinics, vital blood drives, and public seminars on healthcare issues and concerns. Although often overlooked and taken for granted registered nurses are the backbone and foundation of our entire healthcare system and wellness programs.
There are many different nursing job options for RNs who choose to specialize in a specific employment setting or a particular type of treatment or procedure. Ambulatory care nurses provide preventive care and treat patients with a variety of illnesses and injuries in private physicians offices or in urgent care clinics. Some ambulatory care RN nurses can be involved in ever increasing cost containment channels like tele-health, providing expert care and advice through via videoconferencing, online or direct patient telephone calls. Critical care RN's provide medical care to patients with serious, complex, and acute illnesses or injuries that require intensive intervention and constant monitoring. Critical care nursing jobs require nurses to work and treat patients in critical or intensive care hospital units. Emergency and trauma nurse jobs call for work in hospitals or independent emergency care departments, providing initial patient assessments and treatment for serious life threatening health conditions. Plenty emergency room nurses become qualified to serve as air transport nurses, these are specialized nurses who provide immediate medical care to patients who are being transported by helicopter or airplane to the nearest medical or hospital facility. Holistic nursing jobs provide patient care such as acupuncture, massage and aroma therapy. Home health care nurse jobs provide in home nursing care for medical patients, often as follow up care after being discharged from a hospital, rehab or long term care facility. Hospice nurses provide compassionate care focused on maintaining the quality of life for terminally ill patients.
RN job employment prospects will always be healthy, no pun intended. The fact is, nurses are the backbone of our entire healthcare system. Without the knowledgeable and passionate care provided by the nursing community we as a county would be in sad shape.
